“The workmanship is not of the greatest quality. The first batch was completely made wrong and took a long time to get, after waiting months for the first set. The second set of plates still has issues, the cup that holds the coffee is set a couple of millimeters too far back, or the plate that holds the spiral drip condensing coil is set too far forward. Therefore, is tilted in a way that the water does not drip through all the ground coffee. It sits at an angle so the water drips toward the rear of the cup The cup that holds the coffee and spiral are not aligned properly and the spiral pulls the base of the drip cup forward placing it at an angle. I had to do some adjusting, filing both plate holes to get them aligned properly.
The other issue I have with such an expensive piece is that the glass is extremely thin and fragile. I checked a lab supply house and the glass used for condensing coils is so much thicker, but these are proprietary pieces, and therefore must be purchased from a Yanmar dealer like Espressoparts.com at inflated prices!”
