Yama Glass Sitka Teapot (12 oz) Reviews

I got this after being served loose leaf tea in one at a bakery and seeing how well it worked. I've used it at home a handful of times, for an Assam, a genmaicha, and a lavender-y tea a friend gave me. Got great results each time. Because the tea is added directly to the water to steep, where it swirls around freely, I think I'm getting more-delicious tea than I've experienced before. Also, watching the tea leaves float in the water gives a calm pleasure. The straining occurs at decanting, and because the filter is not doubling as a steeping mechanism, it is quite fine and no tea leaves end up in the cup. Spooning the tea into the pot is much easier than spooning into a bag or strainer as there's no risk of missing or spilling. Cleaning is super easy: in fact, I haven't had to really wash it -- I've just rinsed the pot and strainer briefly with water, and they're clean.
