Begode Extreme, 2,400Wh 50S Battery, 3,500W Motor Battery Pack Samsung 50S [2400Wh] / Knobby [J802] / DS200 1300LB Reviews

The mileage listed seems quite deceptive. I work nights so don't have a lot of time to ride. Therefore I hardly got to ride it within the two week "return" period. The other day I took it out for a real ride which totaled about 44 miles round trip. I averaged about 25 mph, going 30 at the fastest in small bursts. Within the last 10 miles my wheel started beeping so I slowed to 15. The last 5 miles I had to limp the wheel to my car at 8mph with it constantly beeping at me. I bought a Begode EX.N and my wife a Kingsong 16x about 4 years ago and neither of those wheels so much as beeped at us in similar length trips that took about 6 hours round trip averaging 20mph. I don't know if my battery isn't fully charging or what, I just feel like it almost dying at 44 miles when it says 70-90 on the product specifications isn't what I thought I was paying for.

Upgraded to the Extreme from learning to ride on a V10F, and it is an upgrade in every sense of the word. I'm 220lbs, so I worried that the 900lb spring would be too little, but it came with the 1300 as well. Luckily I didn't need it (yet). Coming from a V10F the wheel feels more top heavy which took some getting used to. My first night with it I lost control of it and laid it down, which caused the wheel to breakdance a bit and resulted in one of the pedals getting bent. It's not too bad and still easily ridable, but I'll probably end up getting some aftermarket pedals. Speaking of aftermarket, I didn't like the stock pads, so I got a set of Grizzla Flows with a fairing plate and they feel great! I've also got a Shinko 241 tire to try after I ride the stock knobby for a bit. After I put a few hundred miles on this thing I may try an upgraded suspension linkage. There is a lot of customization options out there for this wheel, and the wheel itself is easy to work on. It's also built like a tank with the rear light and pedals being the weakest links, but I knew that when I bought it. The software is great and being able to see the individual levels of all my battery cells gives me real peace of mind compared to my V10F. Overall I am Extreme-ly (sorry, had to do it) satisfied with this wheel and feel like I'm going to have a lot of fun on it this summer.

The Extreme is everything I hoped it would be. I was able to learn on this wheel, and am confident I will never outgrow it. It is built solid enough to receive the scrapes and bumps from learning and trail riding and keep on going. Even the headlight is better than I expected it to be. (I didn't buy it for a headlight, but already it has been essential to have.) I weigh 205lbs before gear, and the 1300lb spring at nearly the softest settings is perfect- I have 3 or 4 threads showing under the preload to get it to fully extend with no weight, and I get 20% sag (but not more). With the air reservoir set at 50psi, compression damping just a turn or two from fully open, and rebound damping about 3 turns from fully open to remove some springiness, the suspension is plush and responsive. I am on the threshold of needing the lighter spring, but I didn't want to lose a bunch of spring travel to preload adjustment, and this has worked out perfectly. I found no loose bolts at all when I went through the wheel, and it has treated me right so far. My only build quality complaint is that the speaker/rear light is woefully exposed and vulnerable, and I wish it came with ABS fairing plates from Begode to make pad mounting easier, and to ease the pressure point created by the battery box. Range seems to be a bit lower than I had expected, but I haven't done a fair range test for myself yet, so that's not a complete statement as yet. I'm happy I didn't go for anything with less capacity but I think this will be adequate for my needs, and I can always fast charge to top off when it becomes limiting. I was torn between the Extreme and the V14, and the solid metal build quality of the Extreme, as well as the improvements of the DS200 shock, along with Begode's strong reputation for customer service currently, settled my mind- and I'm happy with my choice. I knew EWheels would be my preferred vendor due to unparalleled customer service. No ragrets.
