Best money I ever spent. Sturdy, fast, practical, and fun.

I bought the KS18XL in July 2019 as my first EUC. I am 72 years old and it took me a couple of weeks just to go a few feet. Once my brain, my body, and the EUC connected with each other there was no turning back. I have over 1,600 miles on it now. I think it is no exaggeration to say it has bounced and skidded across pavement and grass at least a hundred times and in spite of that it has never faltered once. There is so much to learn if this is a first experience. I fell only once when I first got the wheel when I was learning how to turn. Once I learned how to mount and ride, I never even think about falling although I've had the wheel go out from under me when on rough gravel roads. My favorite speed is about 15-18 MPH. I have ridden at 27 MPH but just don't enjoy that. I have found no other EUC riders in Oklahoma City so I ride alone with my favorite music on the EUC bluetooth. I have a 4 pound dog that I carry with me when I am riding slow. I have been a lifetime bicyclist and I have to say this is one of the most fun things an old man can have. It is like riding on a magic carpet. It is a heavy wheel, at 53 pounds, but I think that is why it feels so stable, especially if you hit imperfections in the road. I think everyone should own an electric unicycle. I think my 18XL is a first generation. It does have a very unobtrusive whine to it when riding up hills or pushing it harder. It seems the new ones are supposed to quieter. I have ridden it at night and when on level ground the light illuminates the path just fine but when I am going up hills the light points more downward. Since I don't push my 18XL to the limits it is easy to go 70 miles on a charge even with the modest hilly terrain. The most I have ridden on a single trip is 30 miles so you just shouldn't have any range anxiety. I do wish I had bought the larger/faster charger when I bought the wheel because Ewheels discounts it a lot if you buy it at the time of your wheel purchase.

I cannot express the joy these wheels will bring you, im on day 4 and im able to ride absolutely fine. The 18-xl is like a luxury Cadillac with a supercharger, and the ride is a dream, The first day wasnt very pleasant but its so worth it. Highly recommend ewheels.

Once you get over that initial learning curve, it's like riding a bike. Super fun and a great way to get around. HIGHLY recommend

First, the Kingsong app is a true pain in the but to deal with; I had to ask ewheels to help getting the wheel to work. Now that it is completely unlocked, I find it too slow for me; but this I should have known before buying. The main reason for which I bought a Kingsong, over a Gotway, is that it was claimed to be the company which has the highest manufacturing quality. Since, to me, quality is paramount; I chose the 18 XL rather than the MSX, even though it has marginally less performance. Unfortunately, this is not the case as for the wheel that I got. I only ride smooth roads, I never jump off sidewalks, or go down stairs, nor do I do off-road. I now have about 400 km, and the handle fell off, and the left footrest has become loose at the axle (internally). I only weigh 130#, so it is certainly not due to my weight. Maybe it's just bad luck; but it seems that my wheel was assembled on a Friday afternoon. Therefore, I cannot say that I am totally pleased with my purchase.

This is my first wheel so I don't have much to base this review on, but as a beginner wheel it has done great! A lighter wheel might have made the initial learning process a bit easier (less strenuous), but once I was able to actually balance and stay on those problems went away. The wheel has plenty of power and the top speed is sufficient for keeping up with traffic on my neighborhood roads. In the city, it does really well going over the cracks and bumps in the pavement. I've heard King Song motors can be noisy. And while there is a bit of a whine, it isn't annoying at all, and again I have nothing to compare it to. I've even had cyclists on trails comment on how quiet it is. I've got over 500 miles on the wheel so far and my only real issue has been with the pressure switch on the trolley handle. I don't know if it's because I dropped it so many times learning, but sometimes it just refuses to work. Not a big deal, as I can always reach down and shut off the wheel. But the wheel spinning up and the decelerate alarm can be a bit embarrassing when I pick it up to go up some stairs to enter a restaurant or other establishment. I also purchased a fast charger and a roll.nz protective cover from Jason. Both have been working great!

It's heavy, but it's a long range, highly durable beast! I'm 6'4"/200lbs, 2kw is plenty to start but I already wish I had more for hill climbing. Maybe a smaller when would have more torque, but I need an even larger wheel for better roll over... I've ridden lots of Rocky two track and single track and it's taken several nasty tumbles but keeps on ticking. Speakers are fun, a bit lacking in bass. The Android app does work pretty well, but crashes a lot. The handle is awesome, the xl pedals are really nice, maybe even a bit too wide now that I keep my ankles in closer to the wheel. Motor has a nice whine to it, not silent but not loud at all. Motor sounds a bit ratchety at very low, high torque moments but I think that's normal. 80 mi range seems accurate, this thing goes forever! I wish it had a battery guage on top, and an option for a seat. Seems like there's also room for improvement on control algorithm for steep and long ascents and descents, i find myself recalibrating the horizontal to keep from having to lean so far forward to get it to go uphill faster without the pedals getting too low. It did get quite hot on a long climb of around 3000', but I was pushing it hard and it gave me an over power warning, so I hopped off, cooled the aluminum rim with snow and it descended just fine after that. It does have an ever so slight wobble/runout that is more audible than palpable at high speeds which makes me wonder if the rim is a bit out of true as I've heard some euc's can be, but I haven't checked. Overall a solid ride, great for commuting and goes off road pretty well!
