I have been using this wheel to navigate through campus crowds and it is by far the best mode of transportation for crowds. It's not too fast so you won't have to worry about accidentally hitting someone, but it's still fast enough to get around town quickly.

This is my second solowheel, my first Glide 2. I love it for the open space trails in Colorado. I even take it to Boulder for work which is a 13 mi. drive. I do have some questions about it. I want to fly my solowheel to RI for vacation. Does it have a lithium battery? Or, is it powered by a Nickel-metal hydride battery? If anyone knows please get back to me.

I bought the V5F+ from eWheels 3 years ago, and have been blown away by the reliability and service. I use my wheel to get back and forth to my college campus (a 1 like journey) every day, and in my 3 years of use have never had it shut off unexpectedly, break down, or fail me in any way. The battery lasts a few days at a time, it has no problem being left in the hot car for months at a time, and the one time my charger had an issue eWheels replaced it for free very quickly. The handle is a must-get accessory, as it allows me to walk with my friends and not have to carry it around for long stretches of time. You definitely don’t want to be carrying this often, it feels quite heavy, but still manageable for several flights of stairs when needed. The handle makes it a breeze to switch from riding and walking and this is never a burden as I go between classes and get on and off frequently. The headlight is a nice touch, but lights up what’s in front of you more than the road itself. Useful for riding on the side of the road at night so cars can see you coming. Overall very satisfied and confident that this wheel will last me all 4 years of college and probably some more after that. A great investment (I don’t even need a bike anymore) and extremely enjoyable to ride (sometimes I’ll go for joy rides around campus just for fun or to clear my head).

I am using the Inmotion V5F for 2 weeks, this is my first monowheel, so I can share novice impressions of this device. You need to learn riding it, but it is easier than, e.g. roller skates. For me, it took 1.5 hours riding along the fence (holding on with one hand), then I was able to ride straight forward and turn a little without holding on. After 2 weeks I am able to ride almost everywhere, except high steps/barriers. The wheel is good for novices. As any monowheel, it keeps 'forward-backward' balance for you, you need only keep 'left-right' balance, as on a bike. About powering off (to Jason): I have never discharged it below 40% before today. But today I just decided to test the discharge down to 0%. And I was satisfied by the wheel's automatic power-off algorithm. First, on 20% it says "Low power", alerting user that there are not so much charge left. And on 0% it says something like "No more power" with the speaker, and tilts pedals back, much like it does usually on overspeed. Then it decelerates smoothly to zero speed. First time when it happened I had to jump off, dropping the wheel on the ground. But the second time I was ready and stepped off normally, catching the handle. So, it isn't so horrible, as described by Jason below. You just need to remember, that if you want to do hard driving, you need above 50%. If you have below 20% - just ride with 7 mph strait home and charge it :)

I could never recommend 1 of these to anyone. I rode skateboards for years and rode a pedaled unicyle and have exellent balance, but these are 100% relied on the vehicle for stability. So what happened is im riding around my neighborhood and start to feal real comfortable, notice the things wanting to tilt way forward after a slow 180 turn, and figure ill lean into and get moving, and out of nowhere the thing shuts off which just leaves me thrown to the ground. If the batteries not reliable under 50% then whys it calibrated to still be on and be such a danger? They need a better system then just shutting off cuz its not like a bike where you would just be sitting there comfortable, youll be on the ground when it decides to give up on you!

The V5F is an entry level Wheel, it has its limitations and can be overpowered, as we warned about in the 'Getting started' communication. Unlike other Sellers, we provide free wrist-guards & a strong advisory about the inherent risks, importance of using safety equipment. I'm sorry about your accident, but as a new Rider it's important to take things slowly initially.

I love this wheel, I wanted to give it five stars... but I've replaced my tire around 5 times. Perhaps there's something defective with mine where the tire is getting pinched, I seem to be in the minority. Still love the ride and nimbleness of this wheel, but with the cost and time involved in changing tubes its been a real bummer.

Thanks Matthew for the review. Have you tried adding some slime to the tire to help protect the innertubes from getting punctures? Is this the same Wheel you've had since December 2016? The statistical rate of wearing out an innertube is about 2000 miles, how many does your Wheel have?

This ride is definitely for beginners. I had quite a good one with it and the machine is working fine to this day despite I've crashed it pretty hard a couple of times. This machine is made to last for sure. Now that I'm quite confident riding it, it kinda feels like it's a little slower and thinking of buying a bigger and a little faster one. I can't compare this wheel to the other brands but I think glide 2 is a practical choice for someone interested to learn riding one. Btw, I ride this euc around orange county area and a lot of people were fascinated about it and I've recommend this site for a bunch of folks to check it out themselves. Very good customer service and shipping was fast! Looking forward to purchase another one soon.
