I didn't care for the plugs they sent to install them so I just used deck screws & had no problem.
They made it very easy to drill holes by having a rounded area on the back of the shutters for where to drill.

“These are quality, lightweight replacement shutters. They do not quite match our existing full wood shutters from 50 years ago, but they are outstanding. 2 sets installed a year ago, and just did a few more this weekend. Highly recommended! Get a color sample before ordering and you might not have to paint them. Installation is pretty simple, about 1 hour for removal of the old and install of the replacements. Included hardware and instructions are easy to follow and use.”
