My experience with the AAFE and the Level 1 course for Frontline TMJ and Facial pain Therapy was okay. I was the most concerned with the lack of instructors per group. If we are learning all of this for the first time, then there should be an instructor going through each step of the process with you. Not just showing a demonstration to a group of 20 people and expecting you to know the dosages, the technique, and where to inject. If there is one instructor for 5-10 people, the instructor is overworked and they do not give the necessary time to each individual person. I feel like there was a lack of space on the tables as well. I was clearing people's belongings off the desk in order to make room to work. We were moved to corners of the room and were expected to work with no proper table top space. Additionally, I felt the course should be a little longer. The instructors were trying to leave for their flights and were rushing out of there while I was trying to finish with my patient. I just felt that the amount of money I paid for the course does not equate to the experience. The course also ran out of Ethyl Chloride for 3 of us and there was no apology/reimbursement for the lack of supplies when we paid to learn this skill. On a positive note, everyone was kind and respectful and made the day enjoyable.

So I was assigned to Jody. She was a nurse and she was completely honest that she did not use pain therapy very often. So I appreciate that she didn't try to fake it and was honest and had us receive instruction from one of the dentists. Jody was fantastic in teaching me to inject Botox and Filler. I wasn't as impressed with the teaching of the dentist that was in the back room (sorry, I can't remember his name).
