“Excellent! Very healthy culture! Took off without issue and has been very strong since. Very robust pellicle development and quick ferments. I keep mine at 71F using a temp controller and have been averaging about 5 or 6 days. I had one batch go pretty sour on me when I forgot to stay on top of it. I broke that up into starters to give away!”
“A LOT ABOUT KOMBUCHA...NOTHING ABOUT JUN! This company is clearly all about Kombucha, and just happens to sell a JUN scoby although doesn't provide really any info (i.e. brewing process, differences from kombucha, etc.) about it on their website. Instructions provided do not talk at all about waiting for your batch of tea to first come to room temperature BEFORE adding honey. This is CRITICAL as you do not want to kill off all of the amazing enzymes in the honey. Again, they are a kombucha company. With kombucha no need to wait to add sugar during brewing process. JUN is very different and proper care must be taken throughout process.AS FOR THE PRODUCT ITSELF...arrived exactly as described and seemed to be packaged well. I just received today and started my first batch so I cannot speak to actual results just yet.5 STARS for actual product.”
“Makes great Surgeboocha Scobie with about 8oz of starter, good for about 1/2 gallon. As you can see from the photos, this made some wonderful Surgeboocha. I don't believe in putting chemicals in my body, so this makes it more sustainable.”
