Since you've tried cleaning your straw per our recommendations, it sounds like this could be a drying issue. After you get the soapy suds in between the silicone and metal, but sure to give it a good rinse and place it in a "V" formation upside-down in a cup. Leave your case open to dry out as well, and be sure both are completely dry before placing it back in for use.
Every month your FinalStraw should take a turn in the dishwasher in that same "V" formation for a deeper clean.
