VFR Photographic Scenery replaces the default, generic scenery in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, with real aerial photography and terrain data to give you breath-taking views from your virtual cockpit as you recreate flight over the UK in true photographic detail. Explore, go sight-seeing, or recce flights that you're planning to fly for real! With photographic scenery at the highest level of detail supported by Flight Simulator 2004 (4.8m/pixel), VFR Photographic Scenery is so accurate that it can be used with actual CAA charts to practice the VFR (Visual Flight Rules) navigation techniques, taught as part of a private pilots license. VFR Photographic Scenery significantly improves the detail and accuracy of the terrain model in Microsoft Flight Simulator, showing every lump and bump of topography in the coverage area. The terrain is also supplied at the highest level of detail supported by FS2004 (19m/pixel). Water bodies throughout the scenery have been designated interactive, giving you moving, reflective water surfaces, and allowing you to practice float aircraft operations. Coverage This area extends from the Scottish border to a line running horizontally north of Loch Lohmond VFR Photographic Scenery replaces the default, generic scenery in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, with real aerial photography and terrain data to give you breath-taking views from your virtual cockpit as you recreate flight over the UK in true photographic detail.

Every one of the Playsims Publishing VFR Photographic sceneries for FS2004 (and FSX) are absolutely fantastic. They bring a whole new dimension of realism to the overall flight simming experience. 'Low 'n' Slow' VFR flights will suddenly become amazing!! I now have the whole set of available titles - the one exception being volume 7 Central Scotland, which, at this moment of writing, is available in FSX but is yet to be released for FS2004. I eagerly await its arrival. That will only leave Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man outstanding in the complete coverage of the UK and Ireland. Installation is straightforward with clear instructions, but you will need quite a large hard drive. All that, together with the excellent service from Flightstore, makes this a 'must have' in my opinion for every flight simulation enthusiast out there, and I highly recommend investing in the whole range, be it FS2004 or FSX. They are excellent - especially when used together with UK2000's airports. (also available through Flightstore by the way.).
