“Knowing its 20 mil WL and thinner mm, I dont understand why 40 mil and thicker mm isnt offered on base. The important part of this type of flooring is the lock mechanism edging both sides broke easily with pressure from grabbing as i did to test the strength and durability. Where as the thicker 40 mil wl plank was a bear to try to break, but still broke but would be more confident with the thicker mm and wear layer. Also did a scratch n item drop test as well, shown at end video of result. So not sure if it was by design to make people choose the more expensive options??”

“We got several samples and were excited about the price of these floors considering the wear layer. However the extra thickness of the wear layer seems to be taken out of the thickness of the core.
Overall I feels somewhat concerned about the quality. On the Base product, the tongue and groove system is SO brittle. Fairly easy to snap it off with your fingers on both sides of the plank. I’ve texted 5mm samples of SPC rigid core boards from Lowes that were way tougher to break and same price. A brittle system means more broken planks during shipping or installation, thus more overage needs to be purchased. It also means stress on the joints from the subfloor would be more likely to damage the connection of the planks.
The wear layer for the price is tempting, but I’m not yet convinced it’s worth the compromise in quality elsewhere.”
