“In general, solid tires are supposed to last longer than air filled tires. However, we bought our son a Fluid Horizon a few months ago, and this tire just shredded out on him after maybe 300 miles of use. That is to say, it didn't just wear down and needed to be replaced naturally, big chunks were flying off. Now, maybe I had a defective tire, or maybe it was due to the AZ heat, which can make the roads quite hot. IDK. We'll see how this replacement tire holds up over time.
Another gripe is that I don't think it is humanly possible to mount this tire onto the Fluid Horizon's wheel. I could not do so with any tools I possessed. I took it to a friend mechanic (bald, bodybuilding, 6'3" of a caveman mechanic) and he couldn't mount it. He even took it to his shop and couldn't put it on the wheel with a pneumatic tire press. I had to send the tire and the scooter's wheel both back to Fluid to have it done.
If the tire holds up better than the original, this will be only a minor gripe though. Time will tell.”
“My Horizon is almost 1 year old and has 2100 miles on it, so I expect to have to replace things. The back tire got a huge split in it and needed replacing. My question is, what is meant by my scooter is warrantees for a year, and 1/2 off service? I've had to replace the rear fender twice - at full price. The front tire, and the rear tire.”
“I got this tire after talking to someone from fluid. Seems like they may have hired people that don't actually know what they're talking about. Shipping took forever too. Not impressed.”
