we have done lots of testing and determined that a simple rubber flap is most effective.
The materials indeed do not cost a lot but it does take time and effort to provide this solution. The materials need to be sourced and tested, cut into form, outfitted with the double sided tape, packaged and shipped to our customers.
We created this as a simple item to address a need of our customers. Trust me when I say that the price is barely covering the cost and effort we put into this.
“It was a long time coming but these extenders are great if you happen to get caught in the rain. Before these extenders, my legs would get wet. They come with two pieces of double sided tape on either side. That works out well but I would add more to be safe.”
“The fender extender worked fine for a few days. But within a week it fell off and disappeared. There were not instructions for installing it. I cleaned the plastic fender with rubbing alcohol and applied the adhesive. Apparently it's not strong enough.”
Hi Matthew, please reach out to us on email - we will send you a new one. We tested the adhesive here at length and it holds up really well. Just make sure the surface is dirt free and ensure you stick the adhesive strips to a straight surface on the underside of the mud guard.
