“This scooter is amazing!!! I did the pre-order and it took quite a while to get here but once they were in stock shipping was actually pretty fast. I have the 2019 dual motor version, I only ride with the speed unlocked and man is it exhilarating! It's very enjoyable riding at the same speed as the cars if not passing them up in traffic. It's crazy how stable it feels, I mean 90% of my commute I'm going full throttle and I feel completely safe (GET A MOTORCYCLE HELMET IF YOU PLAN TO DO THAT). Carving corners with these wide wheels is super fun, taking it down winding roads and accelerating through the corners is my favorite thing to do. Part of my commute has a really steep overpass and I was worried about having enough power to get over, but let me tell you this thing accelerates during the climb. I didn't think that the suspension was going to make a huge difference but man it really absorbs almost all the shock. I had an issue with some damage to the scooter but Kyle was super helpful. He responded very quickly and shipped me spare parts the next day!! I don't love the plastic covers over the suspension, very easy to break but that is a tiny complaint compared to everything I love about this thing.
I highly recommend this scooter, and I highly recommend fluid free ride!!!
Don't make the mistake I initially made by buying one elsewhere (I got some bad stories..), it may take a while if they are not in stock but it's well worth the wait.”
“I just wanted to say about my experience having the dual model of the Widewheel....it is far exceeded my expectations. This machine is in a class of it's own. This is my first electric scooter, and I think there is none better! I enjoy riding this thing and it is a top performer! Both is speed and comfort. look forward to a long time of having fun on this wonderful scooter!”
“Same as every professional reviewer on youtube has said. By far the best scooter for the money you can purchase. Very powerful and built like " police use quality". Smooth and quiet.
Can be used as a regular scooter and settings mode allows you options- then click to drive mode.
No way you'll have any regret buying one and numerous people you know will want one too.”
“I got my Widewheel about two weeks ago and it was packed well, but delivery managed to damage some plastic molding and loose the throttle screw. Called Fluidride and I got the parts ASAP. Had the opportunity to ride it a few days prior to being out of town. Love it so far! Hills are a breeze. That's the main reason I got this version. I ride a rode bike and if I leave from home it's a challenge getting back up my steep hill after doing 30+ miles. Now I can run an errand or go to the gym and get back home with ease. Haven't taken it further than 15 miles on a single trip. Pretty quick too. Have not unlocked it yet. Still getting used to the regular speed. No need right now. The Widewheel should be the benchmark for other scooters in regards to hill power. One recommendation I would like is a way to lock the back wheel when not in use so I could store it in a locker without it rolling out. Two thumbs up!”
“I purchased my scooter to have fun and to help with my "last mile" commute issue (2 miles from home to metro station and then 8 miles from metro to work). FluidRide had good communication in the process. I'm very happy with my WideWheel. It's working for the commute piece and is fun to tool around on. there are some design issues that would make it better. Here are the main highs and lows for me:
1) Suspension - yes it does have swing arm suspension but when you hit a crack, pothole, or something about 3/4" or more deep, it's jarring and loud. On an 8 mile ride, this gets very noticeable.
2) Throttle control - the throttle is actually challenging to use a full range of acceleration. It's far more nuanced than a simple on-off switch but it's not as easy to control the speed as I would have expected. I'll get used to it.
3) Acceleration - wow, this thing can go! Wear that helmet!
4) Turning radius - This has a wider turning radius than I'd like. At high speeds the wide turning radius saves your life but at low speeds or walking it with power off I sure with I could turn the handle more. You can always pick it up but it's a heavy and bulky scooter for lifting.
5) Compactness - After my first ride the sleeves would no longer retract because the locking sleeves were stuck. I'm sure I could use a mallet to get them unstuck but that wasn't the point of folding handle bars. And the steering column does fold down but it's a slow fold process and once it folds the only real way to move it is to carry it, you can't tow it on one wheel or anything. Portability was not a high priority for me but the reality is that.
6) The inability to re-fold the handlebars or quickly fold down the steering column is more than offset with the stability of both. The handlebars feel like they are solid and there is no wobble in the folding mechanism of the steering column.
7) The one button control is annoying and without a readout for things like speed. Cruise control ...”
