This book helped me breakdown and explain the process of laundry to my toddler. It also helps with maintaining engament during laundry to ask “what did Henry do after the clothes were dry?” I also noticed the gender stereotype with dad not doing much, but I think the son doing laundry helps the balance. We also bought other Henry books, such as helping (dad) with dinner and helping (dad) clean, then talked about the division of labor that works for thier family and who does certain chores in our family.

I was disappointed that the Copywrite was so long ago and that it only dealt with Henry and his mother and did not include his father.

Dear Dianne, We are so sorry that you were disappointed in this title. We have offered several titles in this series since they were published in 2012 & 2013. We love the gentle way they demonstrate how children can help and the simple tips for parents on the back. In this book Henry is helping his mother with the laundry. In "Hendry Helps Clean His Room" he is interacting with his father. While we understand that by showing Henry helping his mother do laundry that we may be unintentionally reinforcing a gender role, we really like that Henry is learning to help care for himself. We also feel that because Henry interacts with different family members in the various titles that as a whole the series is balanced. Still, we respect your opinion and want you to know that you may return any item, for any reason, for a full refund or exchange. Contact Customer Service at info@montessoriservices.com or 877-975-3003 for assistance. Thank you for your feedback. Kristine Horrace, Merchandising Manager
