Just how warm or cold is it? Tracking the temperature calls on observation, math, and writing skills (after you measure it). This oversized instrument lets children observe, measure, record, and graph ambient temperature on both the Fahrenheit and Celsius (centigrade) scales, illustrating the relationship between the two measurement systems.Clear, easy-to-read numbers; sturdy plastic. Easy to mount with household screws (not included); 4¾"" x 14½"" overall. Please note: This thermometer does not contain mercury.

Purchased to help my little ones understand temperatures. Needs to be positioned close to window so we can actually"read" the numbers.

We use this thermometer to get dressed in the morning. What we love about it, is that the temperature is in Celcius and Fahrenheit AND that colder temps are in blue and warmer temperatures in red. This way even children who can't read the numbers yet can tell if they need to dress for cold or warm weather. We will be adding some pictures to make it a bit easier to identify what would be appropriate to wear.

It was a gift and so it's just been out there a couple of weeks. So far, so good.

We are putting the thermometer up on the Montessori school playground and will be checking it every school day. We already have a chart for recording our findings.
