First time owner of a sawmill. This thing is awesome. Once it setup works, perfect engine starts first pool very easy. The only problem I had with the whole saw is the valve coming out of the water tank it's a cheap plastic thing is easy fix. That's my only complaint with the whole saw

OS27 is a powerfull piece of equipments. At first assembling the mill is part of a short necessary learning curbe. Youtube is of great help to improve the original package in proposing add on for the Mill. I find making my own planks and beam have made less construction's left over and waist. I recomand this mill for company and home owner with a small parcel of land and creativity.

I just purchased my second OS27 during the sale in July and have no regrets.I purchased my first one in June 2020 and have used it a lot, many thousands of board ft sawed on it and I've built a couple of outbuildings and about 30 pieces of furniture over the past 5 years. Now these mills are a great value but have several bugs and quirks that each individual owner will incur before and during use.I like the simplicity of it,easy to work on and fix if needed,a lot of parts can be sourced locally also. These manual mills will work you pretty hard if your trying to production mill with it which I don't do because I'm old,so I don't try to saw a thousand board ft a day with it,but have no doubt you could.I will set up this new mill on another area of the farm so I can reduce distance and skidding time. Thanks Frontier for my sawmill and achieving a bucket list item for myself

This setup guide lost it 2 stars and only the value of the extension and trailer deal pushed it to a 3/5. That was heck of a value but wouldnt’ve recommended it to anyone with all the pain and frustration going thru assembly. Had to call support… but Support was there and very helpful if you can call EARLY HOURS EST and then no wait time. Late eve- forget about it.

It seems there isn’t power at times. The engine at full power when cutting Boggs way down unless I’m barely moving the cutting head. Once I let go of throttle control engine kills

The overall saw quality is great, with minimal areas of improvement. So long as you keep your blade clear or saw dust, and depending on the wood species, the blade has no problem running all day without swap out/sharpening. We did the trailer option too, which is extremely helpful for maneuverability in a remote area. The overall build took a few days, working a few hours per day. Lifting the head unit certainly should be done with minimum 2 people. We had high density foam blocks to lever up to the needed height, but becareful! As for the operation of the machine, the first draw back is the cooling line. The valve is simply a off and on valve, so don't open it all the way, rather partly to have a slow drip so you do not gum up the blade and housing. Next, the housing itself does collect lots of sawdust if wet, so be mindful of that. Additionally, the safety switches for the housing were faulty, resulting in engine starting problems. Frontier was quick to provide feedback and a replacement, unfortunately, I am concerned that a switch replacement will lead to another failure, meaning unplugging the safety switched from the engine. The last issue I have is the length of the track, its just shy of producing a 12 ft length board, which I feel would be the most common length board to make, meaning the extension, or muscling, or a jig to get that extra foot of board. Others may find no issues with that, but personally, being able to produce 12 ft out of the box would have been a great feature to have and to seperate itself from the competition. Another thing to keep in mind, if doing shorter logs, around 6ft, you may want to buy an additional bunk so the log can straddle 2-3 bunks and be more stable. Overall though, the saw cuts well, consistent width cutting and most importantly lots of FUN! Looking forward to projects to be made from using our own lumber.
