“I have the grandchildren coming to stay for a couple of weeks and I thought this would be a great thing for them to play around with. The pen arrived in a box together with a USB power lead, some filament cable in 3 colours, a 3-point plug, a small screw driver to be able to adjust the temperature and open up the back cover and an instruction manual. The power cable measures c. 110cm so it's a decent length to allow for plenty of movement. The instruction booklet is very clear and easy to follow which is a great start! Just plug the pen into the power source, whether it's directly into the electric socket or via a USB battery pack or charger. A red light illuminates to show that power is running into the pen OK. Just press the filament loading button and another light will flash green. This will continue to flash until the pen has warmed up - c. 40 seconds - the light will then remain green and the pen is ready to use. Thread the filament through the small hole at the end of the pen, double press the filament loading button and the filament will automatically load. You need to get the filament so that it starts to come out of the nozzle. You then just have fun! Wow, this is really cool! The boys will love it. You just build up you picture or object really easily. When you have finished with a colour, simply press the unload filament button to remove the filament and then start again with another colour. Need to perhaps consider buying a pack of additional coloured filaments as they will be needed. I did notice that then pen does need to be at temperature to insert or remove the filament. This is brilliant for card making - you can simply write your message down and as long as all the characters are linked together, the words then lift of the paper or board you are writing on and you can simply glue onto your card - or anything else!! Also great for adding that little finishing touch to craft work, gift tags - anything really. I was going to give this to the boys but have now decided to keep it in my craft room for them to use when visiting so that I have use of it whenever I need to. Brilliant and highly recommended!”
