“I just bought a new HL-L2340DW printer to replace my old HL-2130 after the drum ran out. I manage to get about 730 pages out of the pre-installed toner cartridge, at which point the text became patchy and faint, so installed this new cartridge only to find the print quality is as bad if not worse! On my last print job with the old cartridge, which was 14 pages, on p.6 some of the text is patchy but apart from that it's darker than with this new cartridge. I found with the pre-installed cartridge I couldn't use Toner Save mode as it made the text too light (I did all my printing on my old with Toner Save on and it looked fine but on this one it's only suitable for drafts, not final prints) and with this new cartridge I'd say the text is about as light as it was with the old cartridge with Toner Save on, even though it's not. EDIT: After complaining, I was advised to try gently shaking the cartridge in case the toner had settled during transit and also moving the tab on the drum unit a few times to charge the coroner wire. I'd already done that once, as I normally do when changing cartridges but those two tips seem to have fixed the problem. I printed a few pages with the density turned up to +3 in the printer settings and that got them looking as dark as the original cartridge on 0 but now I've reset it to 0 and it looks OK, so hopefully I'm good now and I've changed my star rating to reflect this.”

“I ordered it very late at night it on 22 of the month it arrived on the 24th of the month by standard delivery. Works perfectly in my ML 1660. Packaging brilliant. I have read some reviews from people who say that it will not fit and/or that it will not print, there is a pull tag to remove clearly labelled with an arrow, then you have to remove a plastic guard that covers the printing head, also clearly marked with an arrow. Takes a bit of gentle persuasion but don't worry nothing is going to break. If someone did not remove both of these items it would not fit into your printer nor would it be able to come into contact with the paper to print onto it. software says it is 100% full of toner so I see no reason why it should not be good for the number of pages it can print to be less than the manufacturer indicates. If this turns out not to be the case I shall make a report on that latter.”

I was also delighted that the packaging allowed me to return the empty cartidge for recycling at no cost or inconvenience to me.
