Because of the natural material in addition to the glue that is added to give structure to the hat there is a degree of a scent to the product. Most people don't find this overwhelming so it is definitely possible that the product you received was an anomaly or something occurred during shipping to give it an additional scent. Like we mentioned in our emails there is a slight degree of a scent but nothing overwhelming or that we would notice while wearing it! We would love to clarify that while our team did agree there was a slight scent, we did all agree we still wear it + the smell is not noticeable wearing the hat! xx
