Classic 7" Herb Chopper Reviews

4.5 Rating 2 Reviews
Read Global Cutlery USA Reviews

The mezzaluna, Italian for "half moon," is a traditional curved knife with handles at both ends that revolutionizes chopping tasks in the kitchen. Its distinctive crescent-shaped blade enables an efficient rocking motion that's perfect for finely mincing herbs while preserving their essential oils, quickly chopping large quantities of vegetables and nuts, and creating uniform cuts – all while reducing hand and wrist strain compared to traditional knife work. The dual-handled design offers superior control and safety, making it especially valuable for cooks who regularly prepare fresh herbs, deal with large quantities of ingredients, or have limited hand strength, though it serves as a complement to rather than a replacement for a standard chef's knife.

It’s a unique knife similar the Alaskan Ulu. I use it as a chef knife. It is very good at working with large cuts of meat or butchering whole fish but not very good with vegetables. The blade is too thick and it wedges easily. Slicing carrots or making thin slices of garlic are doable but not very easy. I suppose I can thin the blade but it’s not going to be an easy job.
