Read Global Cutlery USA Reviews

Global's Drop Forged Chef's Knife, created through a process where red-hot steel is hammered with incredible force between precision molds to create an exceptionally strong blade. Drop forging aligns the steel's internal structure to create a knife that stays sharper longer, resists wear better, and offers perfect balance in your hand – you can often spot these premium knives by their seamless, solid construction and the distinctive thick collar where the blade meets the handle. It's the kind of knife that becomes a reliable kitchen companion for years to come. This versatile knife excels at a wide range of food preparation tasks, from chopping vegetables and herbs to breaking down meats and transferring ingredients. Its balanced design allows for precise, efficient cutting with reduced hand fatigue, making it an essential tool for both professional chefs and home cooks who want a single, multipurpose knife that can handle nearly every cutting task in the kitchen. The GF series, being more durable for heavy use, is favored by professional chefs.

It is heavier than the regular Global knives. When I first picked it up, I though "oh, maybe too heavy". (It's not.) Then I read about why it's made that way - useful for tougher vegatables and also fish. I tried using it to cut a whole cabbage - great. Now I understand. I'm happy with this knife and glad I bought it. Like our other Global knives, it'll probably be in our kitchen forever. It's nearly indestructible.
