UKON 5" Vegetable Knife Reviews

5 Rating 5 Reviews
Read Global Cutlery USA Reviews

A Nakiri knife, also known as a vegetable knife, is a Japanese-style kitchen tool with a distinctive square-tipped blade designed specifically for chopping vegetables. Its straight, thin edge allows for precise, uniform cuts across a wide range of produce, from delicate herbs to dense root vegetables. Ideal for big prep jobs, this knife excels at chopping vegetables and meats with exceptional control and efficiency, making it a versatile addition to any kitchen. GLOBAL UKON is the perfect synthesis of Japan's knife-making heritage, modern design and superior performance. Details like a dual surface handle, an ambidextrous thumb rest and a thicker blade with a noticeably sharper edge are indications of UKON's technical innovation. The knife edge is 10% sharper than any other collection we've released out of the box based on internationally recognized C.A.T.R.A testing.

This knife is very sharp right out of the box. What I appreciate is the size and balance. I wanted a everyday "go to" knife...something that was comfortable and not too big. So far the 5" blade is very utilitarian and has a nice balanced feel. It has definitely been my "go to" knife.

This is the right size for me when cutting vegetables. It's now my primary knife. I like a 5 inch knife for most cutting tasks rather than 6 or 7 inches which extends so much blade beyond the cutting area.

Highly recommend! I also own the same limited addition version. It fits my female hands perfectly, performs so well even on heavy squash & I had to have both! " A sharp knife, is a safe knife" and it is a joy to use in the kitchen.

I love this knife. The thicker blade is sturdy and broad—great for crushing garlic. Versatile—great for prepping vegetables—carrots, cabbage, melon, onion, potatoes. It just works. Plus the blade isn’t too long, so it’s easy to maneuver. My favorite knife. Just about perfect.
