“This is absolutely my favourite solder for leaded electronic work. I do automotive wiring as well as consumer electronics, and the 44 rosin really cleans corroded wire well for a non-acid flux. .062" is a good all-purpose size and does well up to 10ga, and acceptably out to 4/0.
I prefer .031 for electronics only work, but .062 isn't so large you can't use it for SMD rework if you're delicate.”
“Their Kester 24-6337-0061 pricing was very competitive. I received exactly what I ordered within the same week I placed my order. I will be purchasing more of this product from them in the future.”
“I've been using kester 44 core 63/37 for as long as I've been soldering, although usually in .031 diameter. I bought this larger diameter for doing trailer and flatbed wiring at work, it's better suited to soldering 14ga and larger together.
It wets well, is non-corrosive, and the eutectic alloy hardens immediately which is a must in cramped conditions doing solder splices.”
