“Soldering without liquid flux is not possible. Flux-cored solder along does not work unless the surfaces are plated with tin or tin/lead. All other surfaces must be deoxidized before the solder melts. These dispenser bottles are more precise than flux pens or paste flux. Just be sure to use the right needle. The 21 gauge needle supplied with the bottle is fine for through-hole and larger parts but a much smaller gauge (30 gauge ideally} is needed for surface mount soldering. And be sure to use a low solids RMA/ROL0 flux like AIM NC280 for ionic and visual cleanliness.”
