“Top line: great “premium” kamado if you can afford it, that really needs to be brought in random with the stand to get the best out of it. Size: I really struggled to find a kamado that was big enough to allow hosting for larger groups but didn’t intrude into the social space too much. The grill size is perfect and we have comfortably cooked for 10+ people. The multi tier system works great and we have cooked bread alongside meats using the deflectors. Quality: the external coating is a great colour and arrived with no blemishes or damaged. The fittings are all top quality nuts which is great for weather resistance. Handles feel good In the hand and the assisting spring open/close works great, basically effortless to open. The thermostat is a great addition that I was initially dubious about but is qreat quality and very robust but will come on to that. The grills are top quality stainless steel, thick robust slats that will stand test of time. Welds are robust and well done which support the premium price point. It is everything you would expect at this price point so corners cut. Functionality: I think the easiest way to put it is the bbq is everything you would expect from a kamado. Verses the BGE and KJ alternatives the standout feature of the digital probes and thermostat. Realistically this only really is of benefit if you really will use your kamado for more than strictly bbq. However… it makes smoking, low and slow, oven cooking and multiple foods cooking a breeze. The gauge itself has great range I’ve been able to sit in lounge with the bbq 10 meters away at the bottom of the garden. Great for checking probes and interior temps. Makes this fire and forget! Also makes it great to use as an oven, we have baked bread in it using heat after bbq, remotely monitoring temps and just adjusting when needed. If you are the kind of person that will use it for whatever you can this really is a great feature, especially given the get same functionality elsewhere comes at a higher price point. Price: the big green elephant in the room, it’s a premium kamado and priced as such. In terms of comparison to the alternative like Kamado Joe and Big Green Egg it’s competitively priced and nudges out in front in terms of functionality at its price point. As a newer company it remains to be seen whether it will stand test of time and things like warranties will be up to standard so you take a risk on that. However, I had issues with delivery etc and the Grden team have been pretty responsive and good at sending replacements. Customer service feedback: I found quickest response was via their live chat, I didn’t get any responses to the emails sent however when messaged via live chat the emails had been picked up. There is clearly some fine tuning customer service side required and I think they need to get better at responsiveness. But just to reiterate GREAT at actually resolving the problems with missing parcels etc!”

“Having read reviews of ‘potential 3 uses’ on the coals, they had gone in 4 hrs twice (once @140d and once @200d) which was a little disappointing, I may have done something wrong (not enough/too much), it’s a learning curve and often reviews can change with experience, probably better to ask for reviews after a month or two rather than a day or two.”
