“Many expect skimmers to perform 2 functions: 1. suck-in floating elements like pieces of plants and others from the surface. This is not what this skimmer can do, as it is simply too small 2. clean the water surface from the oil film and mini particles which typically builds on the water surface and prevents gas exchange and limits the light. This is what this skimmer does with excellence! Finally a skimmer which can be connected to the outflow of a filter, so I can use it on my built-in Juwel Bioflow filter. Simple mechanics, no motor, no power needed. Great piece of innovative engineering. Needs a bit of time at the beginning to find the right position and adjustment, because it can easily happen the skimmer sucks in air and then it gets noisy. I finally pulled out the pipe from the horizontal piece/outflow as much as possible and now it is silent. Water surface is completely clear since then. Hghly recommend this for the one of the two purposes above.”
