“Ok. So you are asking yourself what could possibly make socks so expensive and this sounds like a bad deal, right? Story time - decades ago in the Marines we went on these short little nature walks all over God’s earth. Somehow, this had a tendency to burn holes through socks and then feet. A buddy told me, “dude, go buy (I can’t remember the brand) for like $20 a pair”. I needed to do something, so I did. I dropped $40 on boot socks, then I dropped another $100 on boot socks until I had enough supplies to get me through a couple weeks playing in the great outdoors. Sure, I get it, that’s a bit more than what you had in mind. You aren’t looking for something that will stop a .308, but these are your feet. That lesson taught me that expensive socks work. Before trying out Grip6 I had gone back to light cotton socks for my new life as a civilian, but I still burn holes through those with light work around the house, and being on my feet all day for my job, trail running, hiking, and pretty much doing whatever I can to destroy stuff - or so my wife thinks. So, I thought I’d be kind to the environment and try out socks that might be the last socks I own while I’m still vertical. Oh, and I still have the socks from the Marines but knee high socks aren’t in fashion around down amongst the cool kids as they say.”
