“I cheaped out and decided to try a $20 Grip6 buckle and reuse/adapt a good quality 1.5" nylon strap that I had from a belt whose buckle I didn't love. That ended up meaning that I had to melt the end of my strap into a straight plastic "mushroom cap" to keep the end of the strap from pulling through the "captive" (left-hand) slot in the buckle. I had assumed that among the many files and videos on the website, there was one tat would show somebody doing what I had to do - but no! I'm a handy guy, though, and between an electric soldering iron and a propane lighter, I ended up with a decent melted end that is holding fine. But I am still disappointed that I had to do it like an orphan, finding my own way. And now that I have done it once, I think I have found a better way: Find an old disposable aluminum roasting pan or pie plate, cut out a good-sized flat piece maybe 5-6" across, put it on the burner of a stove or cooktop, and turn the burner on low. Protecting your hand from the hot parts, hold the end of the strap against the straight hot edge and form the nylon into a straight plastic "cap" that is significantly bigger than the slot in the buckle. Turn off the burner, let everything cool down, throw out the piece of aluminum, assemble your Grip6 belt, get used to how it works, and pat yourself on the back! :-)”

“The belt is and does exactly as it's presented. I was a bit surprised at how light the whole belt is, and it took me a while to get used to that much less weight on my pants than a heavy leather belt and buckle. Initially I thought this would require a tighter and therefore uncomfortable cinching to compensate for the apparent reduced robustness of the nylon fiber and lightweight buckle - but after several months of trying every configuration and waiting for something to come up short, I can attest that this thing works! And I doubt I'll ever buy another kind of belt (except for formal wear). Every guy should have one, and I plan to get more styles.”
