“Rosalie took very good care of our dog while we were away for 2 weeks. She also had a hard go of it as she was watching our house during Cyclone Alfred! She very resourcefully was able to get the neighbours to help her to move everything and make sure our house was ok. The effort she put into changing our dog's diet while we were away was second to none. When we returned from our lengthy travel, she took the time to explain in detail what she changed while we were away, everything in the house that needed to be attended to, and even went so far as to combine different products around the house into the same container. It wasn't necessary but she felt she was helping so I'm glad she could make herself at home in our house and I'm very grateful that our dog had someone to cuddle with instead of being in a kennel. Rosalie is a great sitter for an older dog that loves cuddles but doesn't need a lot of exercise.”

Everything was well cared for; on our return we found our home was spotlessly clean, the garden flourishing, the cat happy and well fed, and dinner waiting for us! **Extremely Disappointing Experience with Stephen**
We’ve had 11 house sitters over the years, all of whom were wonderful—until Stephen. From the start, things felt off. Despite confirming the dates multiple times, he still got them wrong. He was forgetful, disorganized, and made it clear he didn’t have time for a proper walkthrough, instead insisting we write everything down.
Unfortunately, it was too late to find someone else, so we hoped for the best. That was a mistake.
He arrived after we had already left and immediately began bombarding us (while we were overseas) with trivial questions—like where the light switch was or where the cutlery tray was in the dishwasher. This was surprising from someone who claimed to be a “professional” house sitter.
Our cat ran away on the first day, and he joked about it. Our dog was supposed to be fed a mix of meat, vegetables, and dry food, but Stephen gave only dry food—the rest was untouched in the fridge. The litter box wasn't cleaned *once*, and the stench of ammonia when we returned was overwhelming. The backyard was covered in dog waste, and the house was filthy.
We honestly don’t know if he was even at our house regularly. Well into the stay, he asked where the dog leash was—another red flag. He also sent us rude, petty messages that made us feel unsafe. After this experience, we changed our locks.
