“Most of the other reviewers have had a similar experience to myself. The scent is fairly neutral and doesn't linger much after application. I found the contents somewhat dense and difficult to squeeze out of the tube - a good amount of force was needed. The product itself isn't very "wet", and a decent amount of it is needed to cover your face, as well as good amount of massaging and rinsing afterwards - it doesn't really lather-up, as it's more of a cream than a soap. Also, the first application didn't feature a lot of the exfoliant shell husks; as the product is quite a dense cream, shaking the tube doesn't do anything in the way of mixing, either.”

“Prior to reviewing this product I had not heard of the Herbal Essentials brand. Paraben, paraffin and SLS - free, Herbal Essentials is cruelty free and a proud supporter of Ô1% for the PlanetÕ. Herbal Essentials donates 1% of its global sales to the not-for-profit organisation that supports environmental protection. This face scrub is a really nice product, my skin felt refreshed and well exfoliated after the first use, it also looked brighter. I am glad there are no plastic exfoliates in this scru and that it is naturally walnut shell. A little expensive but you do get what you pay for, excellent product.”

“A twice a week scrub that is gentle but effective. This is a very effective facial scrub, the walnut pieces ( no nasty plastic beads) are really good at giving you just the right amount of scratch to exfoliate properly whilst still feeling and more importantly,being, gentle on delicate skin. After use my skin was very soft and fresh looking, brighter ( its winter and my skin definitely has the winter blues) than before .”

“My wife gave this a go, and was pleased with it. “I decided to use this at bedtime to clean my skin overnight, and I am glad that I did. It made my skin a little bit red, but it did a wonderful job of clearing all the dead skin from my face and opening blocked pores, leaving my face feeling really clean. It does not feel at all abrasive, but you can certainly feel the walnut powder bits when you massage it onto your face. You need to moisten your face before using it, as you just need to squeeze a small amount onto your hand and then apply to your face. The hole was a little small, and I needed to squeeze the tube quite hard in order to get some out; it was also awkward to squeeze some more out when I realised that I did not have enough for my whole face. It does not lather up at all. It is a white cream, and I could not discern any perfume to it at all, but it does the job wonderfully. I approve the fact that it has all natural ingredients, with crushed walnut shell powder instead of plastic micro-beads, and I think that the walnut powder does a far more efficient job than anything else I have tried. The kaolin is there to absorb any excess oil from your skin. ””

“As the product description says this is a gentle scrub. I have used it several times now and think that for anybody with a sensitive skin this would be perfect. For rough elbows or legs or knees I prefer a tougher more abrasive scrub but I used this on my face and it was just right. So I will use it for that purpose in the future. And a lovely smell too”

“It's almost clay-like in texture and doesn't particularly foam up, but a little does go a long way. While it doesn't have quite the same effect of alternative products (that use synthetic and in some cases banned - microbeads - ingredients) it does a good job of gently exfoliating the skin. It's recommended that it's used just twice a week, so clearly has a significant effect on the skin. I've got sensitive skin and haven't had any issues.”

“You can see from the pictures that the little tube you get has a tiny dispensing hole and so you can control the amount you use very carefully. On the downside it is a pain to get it out of the tube. You will probably need twice the quantity I used to do your face. With that in mind I would say this will last around 20 washes of your face. The actual scrub itself is very smooth and those walnut shells are pretty fine. They are definately there as you can see from the picture and they do scrub but i didn’t feel like my whole face was getting scrubbed. I had to a fair amount and really wash it about and even then i felt it was only scrubbing 20% of my face. This is all from a man’s viewpoint so maybe the ladies don’t want anything so coarse.”
