“Some incorrect or outdated information regarding: * Not needing to test Class II (they need insulation testing). * Needing to test laptops (they are class III, the chargers are considered separate appliances). * Voltage being the risk factor in electric shocks. This is misleading - it's power delivered over load. Static shocks are super high voltage, but pose no real shock risk due to extremely low current. High current with low voltage when loaded at high resistance will deliver very low power. This is pretty basic stuff.”

“I have passed this course only on theoretical knowledge. I have never seen a PAT testing device nor am I any the wiser in using one! I did this course about 18months ago and it explained in detail how to se the equipment - because I didn’t receive the equipment I had to do the course again, but it didn’t tell me what I need to do when faced with a tester kit and a piece of electrical equipment and I have forgotten in 18 months. I hope someone will now guide me through the first use of the equipment.”
