“This course has been hugely upsetting. My eldest child, 18, is currently telling us that it now identifies as the opposite gender to the one assigned at birth. Over the last three years, we have used up all of our savings on counselling to promote my child's positive mental health. We have reached breaking point and I spend most of my private time in tears. This course identified me as an abuser because I want to obtain the best outcome for my child. HOW DARE YOU! The slide was cursory and did not explore the issue fully. Little is known about this issue, which is still being discussed by professionals and no consensus has been reached on the best holistic positive outcome for families experiencing this trauma. I'm so hurt and angry and confused. I just want to die now. I've been living with this for so long and there appears to be little or no professional help although we have paid privately and sought help from CAMHS. You have cast me in the light of an abuser over an issue you seem to know nothing about. I say again, how dare you! You cannot understand the level of pain and trauma you have awoken in me. I am seeing my Doctor tomorrow, after waiting 2 months to get an appointment, and now I feel unable to tell him the things that have been breaking our family apart. I need to be well to support my aging parents, and my husband and two other children, and this course has broken me. I can't help but feel when I talk to my Doctor that he too will now view me as abusive, and the whole reason I made the appointment is because I want to protect my whole family from the potential of abuse! Your course stinks. You have broken me.”
