“Did the communication skills course. This course makes the heavy assumption that the taker is neurotypical and gives no insights into how to communicate if you, the person taking this course, are the undiagnosed autistic person in the conversation. I know that people are expected to lie about their feelings and plaster on a smile to be perceived as polite, and that everyone else sees confidence as a sign of competence, but it still doesn't click. Yes, I do better understand the theory of communication - I got 100% in the test - but communication feels no less alien now than it did before.”
