“This is a beautiful jacket. The colour was as expected - a lovely warm golden-brown - and it has a strong shape, style and fabric. It has a lovely sense of a 'waist' - even for people like me who are rectangular! It has a slight air of a Victorian riding jacket. I bought it to wear over an ankle-length dress for a funeral, instead of a coat, but in the week since I've worn it to three business meetings, too. For me, it's formal enough to feel dressed up but just rustic enough to feel true to myself - I've never been a conventional 'power dresser' at work events! I also can predict that it's the kind of jacket which will get old and worn over the years and still be loved, and I'll end up dragging it out from under a sleeping cat to wear for a walk in the woods. I'm still wearing frequently an incredibly high quality Hobbs mac which I must have bought at least 30 years ago - it's in such good shape still that I could have worn that to the funeral but I needed something I could also wear inside. I'm very happy with the jacket - I don't buy many clothes so I choose very carefully, and this is what I was expecting. The kind of garment when as you first try it on you say out loud "Oh, it's gorgeous!". Last comment: the sleeves are a nice length - I don't have long arms, and these were generous on me but didn't need altering; a good average that would suit most people.”
