I am sure this is lovely but somehow I could not taste the venison. The meat was quite dry but the pastry was very good.

Loved these when we tried them before, so elegant and so tasty and the little bit asked of us -- painting them with egg if I recall correctly -- worked out perfectly - and gave me a great sense of achievement ---juet like Betty Crocker worked out that people liked to have to add an egg to their her cake mixes -- made them feel they had really been "cookingl" Your message reminded me that this time, these puffs are still awaiting us in our freezer. Look forward to having them and hope the wait in the freezer will not have affeced them too much.

Cooked as instructed they looked and smelled appetising but not quite as good as the web site. I didn’t have any sesame seeds. They were very tasty and the outer layer of pastry was nice and crisp, but inside there was a layer of soggy pastry and it was a bit oily. I liked them but others were not so keen.

These were incredible! We had our doubts when the instructions said to first heat for 5 mins at 270, and then continue heating at a lower temerature for 7 minutes. 270 seemed an incredible heat to risk these little buns, and we couldn't find any instructions on the HOMECOOKS website and the package in which they came had no QR code, just these instructions. So we had to take a leap of faith, and it certainly paid off! The dumplings were as they should be, a bit "soft and squishy," the egg yoke in which we were to douse them gave a sort of flakiness, and when bitten into the dumplings oozed forth with a really heavenly venison mixture. We will be ordering more and are wondering if the chef will put any more of her dim sum on you menu; the internet seems to indicate that Mai dim sum at some point had a restaurant, now closed, then a pop-up near Holborn and also a delivery service, which served or serves only west and central London, but not us northerners. So hope very much you can get her to post more of her food on Homecooks! And I hope somebody read and registered my "report back" about the Madagascan soup I ordered. The first time I ordered this, it simply never came and you kindly refunded me £3 and gave me a discount code. This time the soup contiainer which I received was labelled as Lithuanian meatballs, with a QR code that gave instructions for the meatballs. So, we went one evening to cook the "meatballs" only to find when we opened the container and find out that it had to be the soup! Your packers need I think to take a little more care with your orders! But lets end on a happy note of thanks for the sublime venison puffs.
