“We ordered and received a Personalized Wine Decanter set as a gift for a retiring senior military officer & official after almost 50 years of service to his country. We hoped that the set would be a fitting gift for such an occasion. Home Wet Bar's itemization of the gift in its advertising included a written greeting which we would compose. When we received the gift, however, the greeting was simply printed on a crumpled packing slip inside the box. When I inquired of HWB whether they had forgotten to include the greeting, I was told that the packing slip note was the greeting. I suggested to the responding HWB person that she advise her superiors that HWB's advertising is deceptive as to the form of the greeting and that it was wholly inappropriate on the occasion of our gift for the retiree.”
