Unfortunately, your less ethical peers have earned retractable hose units a bad name up in this neck of the woods and it wasn't until Charlie down the street bought a Hoselink unit that I actually clapped eyes on one that worked, didn't leak or explode or disintegrate within three months. Buying the unit doesn't mean you necessarily want or can afford to junk all your old and useful fittings and this is why I bought some click-on converter sets. They are well-made, work, don't leak and I'm probably going to buy more when I think of it. Thanks, Tim and the rest of the team. Oops, nearly forgot: how about doing the world a favour, motor mechanics and spray painters particularly, and marketing a really good air-hose? The choice is New Zealand rubbish and more upmarket, higher-priced rubbish. None of them will coil up properly and, this is the important point, lay flat on the workshop floor when they are laying out on it. I restore little French cars from the early 1920s for fun and air-hoses are always a worry out on the floor. On the other hand, who is ever going to coil the damn things up again until you have finished using them? Air guns are useful around a mill and a lathe, pumping up tyres, blowing washed parts clean and dry and dong many other jobs. How about a GOOD air-hose, Tim?”
