“The water for my washing machine is supplied by tank water collected from the roof. This water supply contains many small particles that progressively block the in-line filter in the water inlet on the washing machine, slowly reducing the water flow. To clear the in-line filter first it is necessary to reduce the water supply pressure in the hose, then pull the washing machine away from the wall, remove the inlet hose and then with a small pair of long nose pliers pull out the inline filter from inside the water inlet socket. Clean the filter and replace the water inlet hose in the reverse order. In my case the water inlet taps for the washing machine are in under the laundry tub so it was a simple matter to purchase a M-F washing machine hose to connect the Hoselink filter inline with the water supply, attach it to the laundry tub drain P trap with cable ties and turn on the water. When I need to clean the Hoselink filter it is a simple matter of turning off the water supply and unscrewing the clear bowl and removing the rubbish. Also since the Hoselink bowl is clear and particles collected by the filter can be seen without pulling out the washing machine. Compared to the usual run of inline water filters, The Hoselink filter is much cheaper, particles can be seen in the clear filter bowl and cleaning the gauze filter is very easy.”
