“Although getting plenty of charge the light will not activate itself at night fall. It requires a motion sense to switch on. For instance walking in font of it. Having switched it on it then will operate all night at both light levels as expected. This occurs on the darkest of nights so does not seem to be related to, for example, excess ambient light. Not suitable for an unattended sight.”
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review John! There are 3 different lighting modes so yes the third one only detects motion. However there are 2 other lighting modes: Medium light mode (flashes once) - Light automatically comes on at dusk and off at dawn, motion sensor will not be active on this setting. Dim light sensor mode (flashes twice) - Continuously emits a dim light (18 LEDs) from dusk until dawn, with a bright light for 15-20 seconds when motion is detected. There is a button on the side of the Solar Light, which you can press and it will give you the different modes. “A purchased some of these lights a couple of years ago, but have now had to order some more as the original ones are starting to show signs of reaching their use-by-date. The solar panels have begun to warp and become milky. (I have sanded the coating and glued the panel back into place and they are still working)
They seem robustly built, and quite bright, but also quite expensive compared to the Bunnings offerings.
And haven't really lasted any longer than cheaper ones, but they look good and so I have bought some more.”
