Working as both a sculptor and industrial designer, Noguchi brought both disciplines to this design, creating a functional piece of furniture that still has an artistic quality to its combination of materials.<p>Deceptive in its form, the base is actually formed from two identically carved pieces of solid wood, the symmetry creating an open yet supportive frame.<p>To ensure this beautiful design is not obscured, a thick pane of glass provides the top - its curved organic shape in keeping with the overall feel of the table.
