“Omg. Where do I even start. First of all, I'm a huge baby when it comes to pain. I can't handle tattoos (not sure how I made it through before I found the Hush gel). Anyways, I got a big flower on my arm the other day and the flower of course had shading. It was a 2 hour session and lemme tell ya, there is NO WAY I could've made it through without this gel. I put the Hush Gel on my forearm 2 hours before my session and then wrapped it up with cling wrap. When the artist started tattooing me, I genuinely could not even feel it. It was INSANE! For the first 40 minutes, I couldn't feel a thing. Then after that, I could feel it and it was a bit uncomfortable, but it wasn't bad at all. Towards the end it started to really hurt, but that's because it was wearing off for sure. I had a different tattoo done on my opposite wrist and I didn't put gel on that area and oh my gosh. The pain level difference was insane. I WILL NEVER GET A TATTOO AGAIN WITHOUT THIS STUFF!!! :grinning_face_with_star_eyes:”
“First off, yes, this gel really does work. Currently working on my leg sleeve (full leg), but there are things you need to know for best results:
1) Depending on how thick you put the gel on, the more or less numbing you will have. So I put the gel on really thick on the back of my knee, and felt barely nothing, but I didn’t put it as thick on the sides of my thigh (hard to spread a gel evenly) and felt every bit of it when I got tattooed there. It is night and day in terms of pain, and if you get this gel and use it correctly, you will know exactly what I mean if you don’t gel an area correctly. It’ll be complete numbness in one part you did right, and the part right beside it that you didn’t do right, you will instantly want to jump
2) When you put the gel on, don’t “rub” it on, but lather it on kinda thick. Then once your done, wrap the area in Cling Wrap to keep the gel from being exposed to air. This will provide the best results as it allows the skin to really absorb the gel and work deeper into the skin without the gel evaporating.
3) I recommend shaving the area you are getting tattooed an hour before you put the gel on, and then leaving the gel on at least an hour before you start getting tattooed. I’m not sure how your skin will react to this gel, but for my skin, it becomes super sticky and when the tattoo artist is trying to place the stencil, it’s a nightmare. Sometimes the stencil sticks, other times the stencil won’t come off. After my first session, the stencil stayed on my skin for a week. As for the shaving, since the skin (my skin for this example) was very sticky, that it was really hard to shave the leg prior to the tattooing, so I recommended shaving the area yourself, then the gel, just so everything runs smoothly
4) If you are doing a smaller tattoo, like one session type of small, just make sure you cover the area you are getting tattooed and extend the gel beyond the edges on your tattoo area, just so you know for sure everything is covered. If you are doing a massive piece, or a sleeve, really coordinate with your tattoo artist to ensure you both are on the same page as to what’s being tattooed that day. I ran into the issue where the artist told me he wanted to get as much of my sleeve lined as possible, so I in turn, used the gel in my entire leg. Well, during that session, he only only tattooed the back of my thigh, lining and shading, so I wasted the gel on the rest of the leg. Just make sure you and the artist really coordinate on what specific arrests are being done so you can be prepared”
“Works very well! Takes away the dread of getting extra sensitive areas tattooed, increases the desire for new/more tattoos exponentially. This is the road to amazing permanent artwork.”
“Was a bit skeptic about this product but wow put it on at 9am and did not need to use the the spray until 3pm amd was having my inner bicep tattooed great product good to find a company that's product does what they say”
“My husband applied the gel before getting his chest tattoo done, and it made the whole process so much easier to stay comfortable. Definitely recommend for large and intricate tattoos!”
