I like drinking straight from the jug but I prefer to use the straw because I don't want to get lipstickchapstick all over the bottle and the straw is perfect for that and I LOVE how you can still close the jug even with the straw in it! “I'm not saying it's a must have, only because the HydroJug works just as well without it, but I HIGHLY recommend it. The only time I didn't use the straw is after wisdom teeth extractions when I couldn't use straws. It worked perfectly fine without it, but I love that the straw is flexible so you can close the lid with it in, and when opened, it pops right up for use. This makes it completely hassle free and convenient to use. It's also easy to take apart, clean, and put back together. Anyone who purchases a jug should really consider a straw to go with it.”
