“The size of the meat was more than enough for 2 people so we were very happy with the portions. Unfortunately the smell of the meat was absolutley vile and hung around for ages; I undersand some meat that comes vacuum packed does have a smell but this was wrose than any meat we've ever opened. We like to dry brine/ air dry the meat in the fridge but it never really dried even with several dabs with paper towel. We also had to saw the large bone off the end as it wouldn't fit in our searing pan. Tomatos, salad and potatos all good quality although we didn't use them with the steak, love the potato bag. The Potts Sauce was not great, stragely acidic, un apatising texture and didn't taste like any peppercorn sauce i've ever had. I've used other things from Potts and never had an issue but suggest a taste test to see if theres anything better available. A jar of Salsa verde is perhaps a better accompanyment to salad.”

We’re very sorry to read about your experience with the steak. While it’s true that vacuum-packed meat can have a natural aroma when first opened (which should dissipate quickly once exposed to air), it certainly shouldn’t be unpleasant or persist. What you’ve described isn’t the experience we want for our customers, and we take comments like this very seriously. If you contact us directly with the order details our team is always happy to investigate and replace any products that are not right. Regarding the bone size, we do leave the bone long on some cuts to help protect the meat and enhance flavour during cooking, but we understand that pan size can vary and appreciate the feedback. We’re also sorry to hear that the Potts peppercorn sauce wasn’t to your taste. Flavour is always subjective, but your comments about acidity and texture are noted and will be passed on to both our team and the supplier for review. If you would be willing to get in touch with us directly, we’d really welcome the chance to discuss this further and make things right.
