The real highlight was venturing into Southeastern Anatolia: witnessing the breathtaking sunset among the colossal ancient statues atop Mount Nemrut, marveling at the world's oldest temple complex at Göbekli Tepe (truly mind-blowing for history lovers), and soaking in the cultural richness of Sanliurfa, Harran’s beehive houses, Halfeti’s sunken village, and Gaziantep’s incredible food scene.
