“I kind of spontaneously planned this trip to Iceland after seeing some stunning photos of the Northern Lights and it became one of my most memorable trips ever. In February, I traveled with my sister and Iceland was so cold yet felt more thrilling than a destination we had ever been to before.
The sheer drama of the scenery on a daily basis was what impressed the most. Everywhere you turned there were waterfalls that came out of nowhere, ceaseless glaciers marching across the landscape, strange black sand beaches. After dinner one night, driving back from the restaurant, our guide suddenly slammed to a halt in his seat because Northern Lights had appeared above us. The sight of the sky slowly changing green in total silence will stay with me forever.
And I liked this was a small group tour as well. It was a lot more intimate and casual than any bus tours that we have taken in the past. We could take our time to be photo happy, ask questions, and just enjoy the scenery at a reasonable pace.
While Iceland is not the traditional sun-drenched island retreat, and that's why it was so unforgettable! From start to finish, it felt adventurous, calming and truly special.”
