“Traveling from Toronto to Japan can be daunting at first but this tour made finding our way surprisingly straightforward and quite lovely. I loved most the natural flow of things, moments of city chaos and tranquillity alternating without ever feeling hurried. I was surprised by Tokyo right away but also found quiet corners and cultural experiences that made it feel welcoming, not overpowering. And standing near Mount Fuji on a clear day (we were quite lucky!), watching locals go about their routines nearby was just one of those “this is really happening” moments. Hiroshima and Kyoto added a layer of depth to the journey which was helped by being “able to touch” real context to Japan’s history and values, as opposed to just ticking off landmarks. When we got to places like Matsuyama and Kobe, the group felt good, the pace felt right, the experience felt real (not touristy). I returned home feeling like I’d really gotten to know Japan. not just toured it and that’s rare on a group tour.”
