“I’m glad to have the clothes now be tick proof but boy watch out if your clothing says “tumble dry low”. I swear they must bake the clothing to get the permethrin in - everything really shrunk - even material that is not supposed to.
I probably wouldn’t have sent half the hunting clothes I sent if I’d known what they meant by “don’t send if it says don’t tumble dry”. I didn’t know it meant that they ignore the “tumble dry low” instructions and put it on super high.
Both my husband’s clothes and mine shrunk a lot.”

“My wife and I volunteer in our state parks doing trail maintenance and habitat restoration several times a week that keeps us either on trails or "bush wacking". We are constantly exposed to the ticks indigenous to the central California coast. In our 6 years volunteering we have yet to find any ticks on our clothing or our bodies. I cannot say the same for others that we work with. I attribute this lack of ticks to having started sending our clothes 6 year ago to Insect Shield. “We live on a farm in Virginia and work outside much of the time - harvesting and baling hay, helping calves be born, etc. Ticks are a constant problem, so we wear Insect shield socks, pants, shirts and hats - or have Insect Shield treat our own all-cotton shirts and pants. “Great way to get permethrin clothing and know the items will fit because their close you already own. Permethrin does a great job at keeping away pets. Mosquitoes leave me alone while I'm on my morning run! Much more cost effective than purchasing individual pre treated pieces of clothing”
“The Easy Packs are a great way to get a lot of small items treated, like socks and bandanas. For larger items, like pants, jackets, and shirts, the "per piece" option is more cost effective. The permethrin treatment seems very effective for blocking ticks. I've watched them climb up my pant leg and drop off before they reached my knee. I haven't found it to be especially effective in repelling mosquitoes or black flies.”
