“I thought that buying a pre-treated item directly from Insect Shield would be the way to go; however I was disappointed to see that the tag says the Insect Shield treatment is only good for up to 25 washings. The tags on the clothes that I have shipped in to get treated say up to 70 washings. So apparently I would have been better off sending in my own sheets to get treated, if that is an option. I also assumed that the side opening went the whole length of the sheet, but it does not. It would be nice if the pillow pocket completely enclosed the pillow and zipped or velcro'd shut so as to keep the pillow more secure on all sides. The stuff sacks are so tight that it takes 10 minutes to get a sheet back into it after washing the sheet and trying to figure out how to fold it. Companies cause frustration when they could just use a slightly bigger scrap of fabric to make the stuff sack. Otherwise, the fabric seems nice, and I want to feel some peace of mind (protection from ticks, etc.) when on vacation. We used them 2 nights in a campground cabin and encountered no ticks throughout the visit. It's a nice idea but there could be some improvements.”
Thanks for your feedback. Our blanket treatment is the same high-quality process we use for our clothing and mail-in treatment options. The EPA registration for gear items like this blanket is 25 washings. Rest assured, you're getting the same trusted insect protection!
