I wear this hat while working on my family's farm on the Maryland Eastern Shore, and it has been a godsend! It keeps the sun off my face and neck, is well ventilated so there is airflow to my head to help dry the sweat, and the bugs stay away. No more buzzing around my face and ears, and no more constantly swatting at flies and mosquitoes while working, it's wonderful!

Both me and my husband are so happy to have found this hat for outdoor walks, bird watching, gardening and other activities. It fits perfectly, feels very light and comfortable even during a recent heatwave, and even looks stylish.

I am a birder and photographer and frequent, riparian areas, marshes, forests, sage steppe and other places with ticks and various flying insects. This hat venting really works the brim is wide enough and the hat sits low enough for good sun protection for my ears yet does not interfere with my camera. A lot of flying insects come by and leave fast.

Bought these for me and my three boys, one of whom tested it on a mission trip to Zambia, and said that he basically never took it off, except when sleeping. We all then tested them in northern Wisconsin, where the mosquitoes were particularly hungry. In all cases, the hats performed flawlessly and as advertised. Bugs of all kinds literally bounced off of them. They were comfortable, well-ventilated, and effective. Don’t leave home without them unless the weather is below 32 degrees and all bugs are already dead.

Bought the hat for a trip to the north woods of Minnesota and it did not disappoint. Very comfortable, good airflow through the mesh panels, and excellent at keeping the bugs away - only had to pull out the mosquito netting once during the entire week. Followed that with a week in the Rocky Mountains at timberline and it was equally effective as a sun hat and still excellent at keeping the bugs away.

My husband and I walk everyday and there are certain areas where flies are very annoying. My new “bug hat” seems to have an attraction for both bugs to land and then fly into my face. My husbands Stetson anti bug hat has no such issues. The new Insect Shield shirts seem to work fine.

Love this hat! I replaced a tired Columbia hat with this. It is cooler to wear, and I like how the brim holds its shape. And, of course, it has Insect Shield protection, which continues to impress me with its effectiveness. All my fishing clothes are now Insect Shield protected.
